Job seeker tip: A-B test your applications instead of sending the same thing everywhere.
❌ Writing your resume once and sending it to 100 companies
✅ A-B testing different approaches with batches of 25 applications
Nathan Donato, Product Manager at Wellfound, tracked a candidate who was getting plenty of interviews by taking a data-driven approach to his job search. Personal statement at the top for batch one, no statement in another. Different keywords, different formats. He measures what converts, then doubles down on what works.
The data backs this up: candidates who update their profiles after unsuccessful applications see a 5.85% match rate versus 3.28% for those who never change anything - a 2.57 percentage point improvement. That's a 78.1% boost just from iterating on your approach.
